David has 20 years of international experience in business development, marketing, and sales management, with a focus on the diagnostics industry. He has hands-on experience in international marketing, strategy development, licensing, international sales channel management, product/technology assessments, and regulatory affairs. David has held senior positions in private and public organizations, including both global corporations and a VC-funded start-up and has extensive knowledge of, and networks in, domestic and international IVD markets. He is currently focussed on developing and implementing market entry strategies for early stage businesses looking for their first sales in European IVD markets.
Before joining Alacrita, David served as VP Commercial Operations, Europe for Molecular Detection Inc., a molecular diagnostics start-up with a focus on assays for hospital acquired infections based in Wayne, PA. Before that he spent 12 years with Genzyme Corporation in Diagnostic Products and Molecular Oncology, and three years with Boehringer Mannheim Diagnostics.
David has a BSc in Biochemistry with Microbiology from the University of St Andrews, Scotland and University of California at Santa Barbara, and an MBA from the Open University Business School.
