Having trained as a surgeon in China and Europe, Li joined Baxter Hyland Immuno where she helped register fibrin sealant and albumin in China.

From 2001 to 2008, Li worked as Clinical Scientist and Global SMT Leader for Roche Pharmaceutical Division in Basel, being involved in several global Phase III and IV development programmes.

In 2008, she moved back to Beijing where she coordinates and leads product registrations and advises clients on their Chinese development strategy.

Li qualified in medicine at Hunan Medical University, China, and completed full speciality training as an orthopaedic surgeon at the same centre. She trained in pharmaceutical medicine at ECPM, University of Basel.
