Svein joined Teknoinvest Management where he was responsible for the evaluation and development of venture investments in Scandinavia and USA.

From 1993-99, he was President of Axis Biochemicals, developing the company from a privately held unit of 7 employees to a public listed company when merged with Shield Diagnostics plc in 1999 forming Axis-Shield plc.

Following the merger, he became Group CEO was responsible for the integration and further development of Axis-Shield until he steped down in 2008.

Svein Lien is currently active as an independent advisor and board member.
